Claire Wong
Licensed Physical Therapist
BACKGROUND/EDUCATION
Claire Wong is a licensed Physical
Therapist combining traditional physical therapy with
complementary therapies. A physical therapy evaluation will
provide an appropriate combination of an objective
assessment of movement and function with an integrated
client-centered approach to find the best combination of
traditional and complementary therapies for each client. In
a physical therapy session, offerings of core physical
therapy services and complementary therapies are combined to
achieve optimal outcomes in strength, mobility, pain
reduction and functional skills. Examples of complementary
therapies offered are Craniosacral Therapy, Shiatsu massage,
and yoga. The concept that we all are one and are
interconnected is reflected in the collaboration and support
with all the team members at HeartLight Healing Arts.
In 1981, Claire received her B.S. in
Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She is
currently pursuing a Masters degree in Applied Healing Arts
at the Tai Sophia Institute. She has worked with children,
adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including
home care, outpatient centers, rehabilitation and acute care
settings. She is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor,
teaching classes to parents of well children and children
with special needs. She has received training in
Craniosacral Therapy, adaptive yoga for special needs, and
Shiatsu massage. She has studied martial arts for 12 years
and is a practitioner of Tai Chi and yoga. Her philosophy
is to bring an integrated approach of Western and Eastern
healing arts together to provide opportunities for the whole
person to heal in mind, body and spirit.
